Featuring Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. Water Taxis land here only IN SEASON (April through September, weather permitting). You may not park at Fort McHenry and board a Water Taxi. This star-shaped fort and beautiful waterfront grounds preserve the sacred place where Baltimore soldiers saved the Union from the British invasion by the sea, during the War of 1812. It is where our National Anthem was first written by a Baltimore lawyer, Francis Scott Key, during the great bombardment. It is sacred ground where we fought and died and persevered to save our young nation. Landing 17 is part of the Far East Route. NEW WATER TAXI ROUTES You must Transfer at Landing 11 to the Far East Route no later than 3:30pm in order to give you time at the Fort. The LAST boat leaves the Fort at 5:00PM, daily.
